Despite crippling the API requests and turning features off to cope with Jobs Keynote at WWDC.

Wouldn't expect anymore from the US geek community. So introverted they have just one service and they manage to crash it. A bit like a mob crossing a very weak bridge and being swept away by the current ;-). Or something to that effect :-). Happily they're not here yet.

I'm on plurk but can't be bothered using it. Already have too many jaiku like sites to participate in.

I didn't notice, but then again I'd actually have to be spending time there, and you're right about the US geek introversion, they need to get over themselves...fast.

Not just them. The community as a whole.

It's weird, it wasn't the downtime that made me reassess, I just felt that something had changed, the tone, the style, something, still can't work out specifically what. So I started looking for other options and have now effectively stopped posting there.

What changed on twitter is that as people don't expect the same quality of uptime they've moved to somewhere they can be online without fear of interruption. Now the conversation is everywhere, really hard to follow.
